The Bishop is the head of the local church, a grand but decaying institution that seems to worship wealth and power rather than any divine being. He is first encountered when Conker stumbles into the church during a storm, seeking shelter. The Bishop, rather than offering aid, conscripts Conker into a series of humiliating and dangerous chores, including cleaning a massive pile of dung in the basement. This task introduces the game's infamous 'Great Mighty Poo' boss, a singing pile of feces that the Bishop has been secretly feeding and venerating.

In Their Own Story

The church bells toll, a hollow sound swallowed by the rain. Conker, soaked and weary, pushes open the heavy oak door. Inside, the Bishop stands before a golden altar, counting coins. 'Ah, a visitor!' he booms, his voice dripping with false warmth. 'Just in time for your tithe.' Before Conker can protest, the Bishop shoves a mop into his paws and points to a trapdoor. 'The basement needs a good scrub. Don't mind the smell—it's the smell of holiness.' The trapdoor creaks open, and a foul, sulfurous stench billows out, followed by a guttural song from the depths below.
